Terms and Conditions

Enrollment

Your seat in any of the trainings we offer is considered “reserved” when we receive either your Deposit, or Payment in Full. Your enrollment is considered “complete” after you digitally sign the Enrollment Agreement we email to you, and payment arrangements (if you have not “paid in full”) are made. If we determine that the training you are in the process of enrolling in is unsuitable for you, Center for Advanced Life Skills (CALS) reserves the right to decline your enrollment.

Readiness of Participant

You acknowledge that you are in good physical and mental health and are not under any type of care that would prevent you from fully participating through the duration of the training. Our trainings evoke honest self-examination, which takes place in a safe, fun, and thought-provoking environment where intense, transformational experiences are not uncommon. By attending, you are acknowledging that you are prepared to have such an experience.

Late Payments

If CALS schedules a payment plan with you, your balance is due before the start of your training (unless other arrangements were made). CALS reserves the right to (1) refuse your entry to the training, and/or (2) claim full or partial payment of the remaining fees if you fail to keep your payments current.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

You have three (3) days to change your mind and have your payment refunded, minus the 2.9% processing fee charged by our online payment service provider (Paypal).

After that time, the following Cancellation and Refund Policy applies:

If you decide at a later date not to attend the training, as long as we are informed two (2) or more months before the starting date of the training, then a refund of everything except the Deposit for that training (and a minimum Cancellation Fee of 25% of the total cost of that training) will be given. Both the Deposit and the Cancellation Fee can be applied to another training if it is within a maximum of one year from the date of the Enrollment Agreement. (You can choose to extend this by paying the current Rollover Fee of 5% of the total cost of that training.)

If you cancel your enrollment within two (2) months or less of the starting date of the training, then no refund will be given, and your complete payment will be brought forward to the next training of your choice within a maximum of one year from the date of the Enrollment Agreement. (You can choose to extend this by paying the current Rollover Fee as specified above.)

If you placed a partial payment amount toward a training, and that amount is less than or the same amount as the required Deposit, then no refund will be given, regardless of when your cancellation is made. (The amount can be applied to another training, if it is within the one year period as specified above.)

Cancellations must be submitted to us in writing, either by email or regular mail delivery.

Refunds are issued within 21 days of the notice of cancellation. Refunds will be issued using the same method as the payment towards the training was made.

No Shows / Abandonment

If you fail to attend the training, or you abandon the training at any point, then there will be no refund due to you (although, at the discretion of CALS, you may be able to attend another training, if it is within the one year period as specified above).

Unfit To Participate

If, during a training, anyone is found unfit to participate in the training by a representative and/or staff member of CALS, that person will be required to leave the training immediately. In this case, no refunds will be given; no questions or discussions will be entered into; and all training materials, including manuals, are to be handed back to CALS on the spot.

Being found unfit to participate includes, but is not limited to:

  • being disruptive
  • being quarrelsome
  • showing up intoxicated
  • being absent without prior notice
  • being excessively late (including after breaks)
  • recurring failure to follow instructions
  • recurring failure to make reasonable efforts
  • refusing to participate during training exercises
  • engaging in behavior that jeopardizes the morale of the group
  • recurring inattentiveness (excessive engagement with smartphone, etc)

CALS reserves the right to deny access to the training, in whole or in part, without prior notification or explanation.

Makeups

If you miss any portion of your training, you are required to make up the portion that you missed in order to receive your certification. This can be done by either (1) booking additional time with the Trainer at their hourly rate; or (2) attending the portion that you missed at a future training (within one year). You will not receive your certification until you have completed the portion that you missed.

Retakes

Previous graduates of CALS trainings can request to re-take their training at a discounted rate, subject to approval from CALS (and seat availability). CALS reserves the right to deny requests to re-take trainings.

Class Materials

All printed materials created by CALS are protected by copyright, and are for the exclusive use of the Participant. They may not be copied or shared without the permission of CALS. We do not provide electronic documents (PDFs, etc) of any of our materials.

Recording Devices

The use of cameras, audio recording devices, and video recording devices during the presentation of the training is not allowed. The only time a Participant is allowed to photograph something during the training is when the Trainer permits it—for that moment in time only. (Participants must obtain permission for each and every photograph taken during the training.)

Unforeseeable Circumstances

This includes but is not limited to:

  • a national emergency
  • an Act of God
  • civil disorder
  • terrorism
  • war
  • a natural disaster
  • illness or injury suffered by a scheduled trainer*
  • unforeseen events suffered by a scheduled trainer’s significant others*
  • unforeseen circumstances in regard to the training venue
  • insufficient training enrollment

Should such unforeseen events beyond our control occur, CALS reserves the right to change the training dates and/or location. In this case, no refund will be due, and a credit will be applied toward the re-scheduled and/or re-located training (or a future training of your choice within a maximum of one year from the date of the Enrollment Agreement.

* CALS also reserves the right to replace a scheduled trainer with an equally skilled and credentialed substitute trainer, should such unforseeable events occur.
